February 2014 sees our first Geography trip to the land of fire and ice.
Situated on the Mid-Atlantic Ridge, Iceland is a hotspot of volcanic and geothermal activity. Straddling the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates, Iceland began to rise from the North Atlantic seabed around 25million years ago, the product of volcanic eruptions still going on today.
